Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Externship Experience

• Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observe/assist or perform surgical procedures, and manage patients medically.
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Duration

Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules.
