(Trainee) Tug Master

Candidates are expected to:-

• Take command of the tug and its crew
• Navigate the tug safely and ensure proper precautions are taken by the crew, including the posting of a lookout in the wheelhouse
• Monitor the machinery performance from the bridge and ensure that regular checks on engine room's machinery have been carried out by the Engineers
• Ensure all crew and contractors are properly attired with required PPE
• Assign maintenance/other work/job to crew and conduct risk assessment prior to commencement of work
• Take responsibility for the safety of the tug and crew under all circumstances and ensure that all repairs/defects are being attended to
• Oversee and take charge of bunkering procedure with compliance to bunkering checklist provided
