About the Role
A Technical Superintendent is a shore-based maritime professional who acts as the vital link between a fleet’s vessel crews and company management. They are responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and cost-effective technical operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of assigned ships.
Key Responsibilities- Vessel Maintenance & Repairs: Plan and oversee routine maintenance, dry‑dockings, and emergency repairs. Prepare detailed technical specifications and monitor job progress.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all vessels adhere to Flag State, Classification Society, Port State, and International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations. Oversee safety management (ISM code).
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop, monitor, and manage annual technical budgets for assigned vessels. Approve requisitions for spare parts, lube, and fuel.
