- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and shop drawings
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel components using saws, shears, presses, and other machinery
- Assemble structural steel components according to specifications
- Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, squares, levels) accurately
- Follow workplace safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
- Coordinate with engineers, welders, and supervisors to meet production timelines
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
