PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To Manage an effective Rock engineering service that aims to maximise ore body exploitation with minimum levels of rock-related risk. Ensure the responsibility as competent person in terms of Regulation 14.1(8), of Mine Health and Safety Act (Act No. 29 of 1996).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 with Maths & Science is essential Relevant tertiary qualification (Mining Engineering/Geology/ Rock Engineering) or NQF Level 7 equivalent is essential Advanced Rock Engineering Certificate is desirable A minimum of two years working experience in a rock engineering department as an HOD at the shaft is essential. Hard rock tabular mining experience is essential.
