About the Role
- Perform fitting, alignment, and assembly of marine engine components such as cylinder heads, liners, pistons, crankcases, turbochargers, and fuel systems.
- Maintenance on marine engines
- Follow technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions
- Act as a team lead for a small team of fitters or junior technicians.
- Allocate tasks, monitor daily progress, and ensure jobs are completed on schedule.
- Provide technical guidance, on-the-job training, and support to less experienced staff.
- Support or lead testing and trial runs of assembled engines.
- Provide daily progress reports to the workshop supervisor.
- Report defects, non-conformities, or material shortages promptly.
- Enforce and adhere to safety protocols and risk assessments.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good working condition.
