Security Officer

Under immediate supervision, is responsible for performing a full range of patrol and security work at a City facility or related area. Exercises functional supervision. May exercise direct supervision over assigned staff. Work Location Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - 900 E. Market Street, San Antonio, TX 78205 Work Hours Hours will vary based on shiftwork, including weekends, holidays, adjusted schedules, and additional hours as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervises, briefs, and dispatches contract security as required.
• Trains and instructs security staff as needed.
• Monitors closed circuit T.V. and fire alarm systems.
• Investigates incidents and activities.
• Patrols assigned areas to eliminate or report fire hazards, deter thefts, vandals, or violence and communicates through the use of a two-way radio.
