About the role

Hollows Timber Ltd is seeking a Sawmill Worker (Sawer/Head Rig Operator) to join our team in Balclutha, Otago. This full‑time position is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant, ensuring high quality timber products are produced efficiently and safely. Experience is preferred but for the right keen person looking for a change, training can be taught. Work Hours 40hr week with chance for Overtime being Time and Half Pay.

What you’ll be doing

• Operating the head rig saw to cut logs into sized timber for the bench saw
• Operating the saw bench when needed also
• Monitoring the sawing process and making adjustments to optimize output and quality
• Performing regular maintenance and minor repairs on the sawing equipment
