Principal Hardware Engineer

Location and Hours

• Prefers candidate based in Toronto, but will consider Boston area candidates willing to travel to Toronto at least once a quarter.
• Work hours flexible; meetings typically scheduled 9am-5pm EST.
• Salary range: $215,000 - $235,000 CAD (U.S. based may discuss variation).
• Reports to Steve Boyle, Director of Engineering.

In This Role, You'll Be Expected To

• Lead advanced development efforts on highly complex, ambiguous technical problems that shape the future of Synex's technology.
• Serve as lead architect for Synex's next‑generation system, designing and prototyping novel hardware architectures and translating theoretical concepts into practical engineering solutions.
• Drive technical exploration through simulation, experimentation, and rapid iteration to identify and resolve key technical risks.
