Payroll Supervisor – Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Purpose

The Payroll Supervisor will provide reliable, responsive, accurate, and timely payroll service in support of compensation, benefits, payroll tax, and reporting services. The role supervises the payroll team, oversees payroll tasks assigned to payroll specialists, and develops their career progression. It also liaises with internal and external stakeholders on matters including wages, benefits and pension plans, reporting, and software issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the work of payroll specialists and guide career progression.
• Coordinate daily payroll activities and functions to ensure smooth operations.
• Serve as a senior liaison for payroll‑related matters with superior customer service.
• Backup processing of bi‑weekly, monthly, special, and year‑end payrolls in a timely and accurate manner using SAP.
