• Part of AWS optical networking team supporting data centre interconnectivity
• Team handles:
• Optical network operations
• Some engineering / product development work
• Core technology: DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing)
• Responsible for ensuring high-capacity, resilient transport between data centres

Purpose of the Role
• Additional headcount for project-based work (device upgrades + operations)
• Focus on:
• Software upgrades on optical network devices
• Manual/semi-manual execution of network changes
• Work includes:
• Traffic migration and rerouting
• Coordination with internal stakeholders
• Execution within defined maintenance windows
