**Position Objective:**
**BACKGROUND**
The Library of Congress (Library, LOC) is the largest library in the world, with millions of books, recordings, photographs, newspapers, maps and manuscripts in its collections. The Library is the main research arm of the U.S. Congress and the home of the U.S. Copyright Office. The Library preserves and provides access to a rich, diverse and enduring source of knowledge to inform, inspire and engage intellectual and creative endeavors. The LOC Human Capital Directorate (HCD) is responsible for executing on the business process following Federal laws and regulations – Library of Congress is part of the Legislative Branch (Title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations) - (e.g., Onboarding new hires, Personnel Action and Payroll Processing, Retirement Counseling and Benefits, Time and Attendance, Leave Administration, Position Classification, etc.) to serve the entire Library of approximately 3,400 staff members.
