MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Summary You will serve as a MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Metrology Engineering Section (Code 137.3) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will utilize ingenuity and creative thinking in devising new ways to accomplish objectives. You will interface with the customer to resolve unique operational deficiencies and advise the customer on proper equipment selection and operation. You will provide assistance to the engineers in the laboratory in determining which references to use in cases where specified equipment documentation is unclear or incomplete. You will perform mathematical computations necessary to produce the test data. You will prepare the laboratory reports and associated graphs and charts. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
