Marine Microbiologist

Responsibilities

• Process and analyse samples in the laboratory for phytoplankton, zooplankton, legionella and microbiological analyses as assigned by the Lab Manager/section in-charge.
• Prepare and store media and other reagents required for the analysis.
• Identify and classify marine organisms.
• Perform the daily/ weekly/ monthly checks as assigned by the Lab Manager/section in-charge.
• Perform sample collection and tasks in accordance with approved methodologies, testing protocols and analytical procedures.
• Operate, maintain and properly store lab and marine equipment and sample inventories.
• Perform media efficacy check, standardization & sterility check as assigned by the section in-charge/Lab Manager.
• Perform internal calibration and verification of instruments as instructed by the Lab Manager/section in-charge.
