What Does an M&E Coordinator Do?
“M&E” = Mechanical & Electrical (sometimes “MEP” if Plumbing included). An M&E Coordinator ensures that the mechanical, electrical (and sometimes plumbing) parts of a building project are planned, executed, coordinated, and delivered correctly.
Key Responsibilities / Job Scope- Review and coordinate M&E drawings , shop drawings, technical specifications. Ensure all submissions, revisions, materials, samples, and method statements are approved by consultants/authorities.
- Liaise with consultants, clients, contractors & sub‑contractors to resolve technical issues and ensure works match design & specification.
- Coordinate with other trades (architectural, structural, plumbing, fire safety) so M&E installation fits into overall site work & sequence. Avoid conflicts and clashes.
