The primary purpose of this position is to: provide technical support to a librarian by performing a wide variety of public and technical services. Responsibilities Independently performs circulation and registration duties. Provides reference services to library customers by locating bibliographic information using standard library reference tools, such as guides, indexes, bibliographies, professional directories, current card catalog, CD-ROMs, and in-line databases. Accesses, enters, retrieves, or corrects routine information in automated databases. Performs routine clerical tasks, such as answering the telephone, taking messages, and referring callers or visitors to appropriate staff members.
