Lead Mechanical Engineer, Mining/Resources

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and piping engineering packages for multidisciplinary mining and industrial projects across all phases—from conceptual studies to detailed engineering and construction support.
• Apply deep knowledge of codes and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, ASME VIII Div 1/2, API, TEMA) to develop safe, compliant, and reliable mechanical and piping systems.
• Direct and review piping layouts, isometrics, bills of materials (BOMs), and fabrication deliverables, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and alignment with project standards.
• Evaluate, select, and specify rotating equipment—pumps, compressors, and blowers—using lifecycle cost, operability, and performance criteria to support long‑term asset reliability.
• Oversee the mechanical design of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, chutes, bins, hoppers, and conveyor system components in collaboration with structural and process engineering teams.
