Overview

Hackney Council offers an apprenticeship within the Building Maintenance Service, giving hands‑on experience alongside qualified operatives while attending college one day per week or on block release. Apprentices receive regular development, networking and progression workshops, a competitive salary, holiday entitlement and support while gaining a recognised qualification in their chosen trade.

Apprenticeship Trades and Responsibilities

Carpentry Apprentice

The Carpentry Apprentice will acquire the skills required to become a qualified Carpenter. During the apprenticeship you will learn how to install, repair and maintain doors, windows, locks and other associated works in Hackney’s residential and void properties and public buildings. Upon completion of Level 2 you will progress to Level 3.
