About the Role
The Forensic Structural Engineer will be responsible for evaluating building and infrastructure performance, determining root causes of failures or damage, and preparing defensible technical reports. Work may include residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional structures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct forensic investigations related to structural failures, damage, or deficiencies
- Perform site inspections following events such as fires, floods, windstorms, impacts, or construction-related issues
- Analyze structural systems including concrete, steel, timber, and masonry
- Review drawings, specifications, construction records, and maintenance histories
- Determine cause, origin, and extent of damage
