About the Role
As a Closure Design release Engineer, you will lead the development of critical rear-vehicle systems, ensuring they meet rigorous safety, functional, and manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development: Responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and release of rear body closure sheet metal (e.g., liftgates, decklids, or tailgates) and associated hinging systems.
Validation: Manage the development and validation of assigned components.
Communicate technical product status and competitor benchmarking to management.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead packaging coordination with adjacent departments including electromechanical (latches/cinching motors), electrical (harnessing), lighting (taillamps), and interior/exterior trim.
Virtual Performance: Work closely with virtual validation groups to ensure the CAE scorecard is met and verify manufacturing feasibility.
