Job Title: Casual Lifeguard/Instructor
Department: Pool & Fitness Centre
Location: Dryden Recreation Complex
Reports To: Recreation Coordinator
Hours of Work: Casual employment with hours determined as per staffing & program requirements.
Hourly Wage: $18.20 - $24.26 per hour based on certifications as per the IBEW Collective Agreement; all other benefits as per ESA.
Job Summary
This position requires applicants to be a minimum 15 years of age.
Lifeguard : To use trained lifeguard techniques to effectively supervise swimmers, prevent aquatic injury, enforce rules to patrons, and obtain emergency medical assistance as required.
Instructor : To instruct children and adults in swimming skills and water safety knowledge; to teach entry level leadership courses which instruct candidates to respond to increasingly complex rescue situations.
