Backend Engineer, Node.js/TS — AI Voice & Real Estate Data

Project Brief

We’re building a custom middleware layer that connects a voice AI platform to a client’s core business systems — including real estate transaction data, staff directories, and Microsoft Teams notifications. This is a greenfield backend project with a clear scope, a tight‑knit internal team, and real production stakes. You’ll be the engineer who makes the voice agent smart by building the APIs, data pipelines, and admin tooling that power it behind the scenes.

Must‑Haves

• Strong Node.js / TypeScript backend development — production‑grade, not just prototypes
• REST API design — security (token‑based auth, IP whitelisting), documentation, and edge‑case handling
• PostgreSQL — schema design, queries, and full‑text search (pg_trgm or similar)
• Experience integrating third‑party APIs in production — OAuth flows, webhook handling, and failure recovery
