Assistant Professor, Midwifery

About the Role

Limited‑term Assistant Professor position in the School of Nursing and Midwifery (August 15, 2026 – August 14, 2027). The successful candidate will be hired into the teaching/service pattern (TS) and may change to the teaching/scholarship/service pattern (TSS) after tenure.

Qualifications

• Priority to candidates with experience in midwifery education.
• Qualified to teach all levels of midwifery courses and participate in course and program revisions and development.
• Preferred instructor qualifications in Fetal Health Surveillance, Neonatal Resuscitation, and midwifery Emergency Skills.
• Active Registered Midwife in Alberta or another Canadian jurisdiction; eligible for and must maintain registration with the College of Midwives of Alberta or another Canadian regulatory body.
• Master’s degree required; a PhD in Midwifery or related field preferred.
